Iran-IAEA Cooperation Documents Not to Be Made Public: Araqchi

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The documents of a recent roadmap signed between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on closer cooperation are not going to be made public, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said.

Speaking to ICANA on Monday, Araqchi said a recent roadmap that Iran and the IAEA signed in Vienna will facilitate cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog, but stressed that its details will not be released.

"Our path (in cooperation with IAEA) is in line with the previous agreements, with a new road map and some related annexes, which are documents between Iran and the agency; that's why they have not been released, as no (other) country releases its documents (signed) with the agency," he explained.

Back on July 14, Head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi signed a roadmap in Vienna to resolve all the past and present outstanding issues related to Tehran's nuclear energy program.

"The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Islamic Republic of Iran (Iran) agree, in continuation of their cooperation under the Framework for Cooperation, to accelerate and strengthen their cooperation and dialogue aimed at the resolution, by the end of 2015, of all past and present outstanding issues that have not already been resolved by the IAEA and Iran," read part of the text of the roadmap.
