In a message to his Algerian counterpart Abdelkader Bensalah on Saturday, Rouhani congratulated the North African state on the anniversary of its Revolution Day.

He also expressed hope for the promotion of cooperation between Iran and Algeria in various fields considering the two countries’ history and ample capacities.

Rouhani further wished success and prosperity for Algeria’s government and nation.

Algeria celebrates the anniversary of the Revolution Day on November 1 and commemorates the start of the war of independence against France.

On November 1, 1954, coordinated attacks by the National Liberation Front (FLN) against police and French military targets across Algeria triggered the Algerian War.
