Iranian, Pakistani Commanders Discuss Strengthening Border Security in Online Meeting

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Islamic Republic of Iran's Border Commander and the Director General of Pakistan's Maritime Security Agency held an online meeting to discuss enhancing border security by conducting concurrent operations and patrolling.

According to an official statement, the online session between the heads of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Border Guard and the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency was held at the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency's headquarters on November 10, 2021.

“Brigadier General Ahmed Goudarzi commander Islamic Republic of Iran Border Guard was heading the Iranian delegation, comprising of Brig Security, Brig Legal, Deputy Commander Islamic Republic of Iran Border Guard Coastal Area and Regional Commander Coastal Area,” the statement said, adding that Rear Admiral Muhammad Shuaib led the Pakistani delegation, which included the Deputy Director General PMSA, Director (Legal), Director (Operations), and Director (Strategy) (Public Relations), IRNA reported.

During the meeting, opportunities for mutual cooperation as well as numerous suggestions for promoting security, protecting fisherman, and conducting simultaneous operations and patrolling were thoroughly explored.

Future collaboration and assistance in numerous domains was largely agreed upon, and concerned officers from both sides were to address it later.
