EU Foreign Policy Chief Denounces Terrorist Blasts in Kerman

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – European Union Foreign Policy Chief Josef Borrell condemned the Wednesday terrorist blasts in Iran’s southern city of Kerman.

Speaking in a telephone conversation with Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, Borrell offered condolences to the families of the victims and the Iranian government and people.

He also wished the injured will recover soon.

Amirabdollahian for his part referred to the necessity of the international community to fight different forms of terrorism and thanked the EU’s top diplomat for sympathizing with Iran over the Kerman attacks, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.

During the phone conversation, Amirabdollahian and Borrell also discussed the latest regional developments including the situation in Gaza.

Two terror blasts killed and injured hundreds of people in the southwestern city of Kerman on Wednesday.

Iran’s Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi has put the number of martyrs in the explosions at 84.

The terrorist blasts happened near the burial site of Lt’ General Qassem Soleimani during a ceremony marking his fourth martyrdom anniversary.
