Israel’s military said late Monday it had killed three Palestinians and wounded ten others during a large-scale raid on Tubas.
The operation had begun earlier in the day as occupation forces deployed heavily across the province.
Palestinian sources reported that a 20-year-old man was also shot dead by Israeli troops in Qabatiya near Jenin.
The Palestinian Red Crescent said dozens of families were displaced in Tubas as Israeli units stormed homes and turned several into military posts.
The organization said its teams were struggling to shelter those forced from their houses by the Israeli assault.
It added that medics were treating numerous wounded people despite Israeli forces blocking access to some of the injured.
The Hebrew-language newspaper Maariv, citing Israeli military sources, claimed the raid was triggered by what it described as increased anti-Israeli activity in recent weeks.
Israel’s army said special forces were searching dozens of buildings and interrogating suspects, insisting the operation would continue until it removed what it called security threats.
Al Jazeera’s correspondent reported that Israeli forces had sealed off Tubas entirely and imposed a full movement ban.
Troops advanced into the al-Fari’a refugee camp and surrounding towns, expelling residents and converting homes into military sites.
The Red Crescent said Israeli forces prevented its personnel from reaching several wounded people, including a severely burned child.
It said troops pulled an injured man from an ambulance in Tammoun and detained him.
Palestinian media reported that Israeli soldiers arrested the mayor of Tammoun while he was carrying out humanitarian duties.
Al Jazeera added that Israeli units, supported by reinforcements and bulldozers, pushed into Tulkarm and moved toward the Nur Shams refugee camp, where they carried out demolitions.
In occupied East Al-Quds, Israeli forces shot and wounded a Palestinian youth during a raid on the Shuafat refugee camp.
Later, Palestinian sources said a 20-year-old man, Osama Kmeil, died after Israeli troops shot him in the abdomen in Qabatiya.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said he suffered severe bleeding and died in hospital despite medical efforts to save him.
His death raised the toll in Jenin since Israel’s January 21 offensive on the northern West Bank to 57.
Israel’s military confirmed it had launched the new large-scale raid on Tubas on Monday morning, including house incursions that turned some residences into military compounds.
The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that three Israeli brigades — Menashe, Shomron and Commando — took part in the Tubas operation.
It said Israeli forces had blocked major roads in the province to tighten control.
Local sources said Israel deployed significant reinforcements and military bulldozers, while Apache helicopters fired overhead.
Israeli forces imposed a full curfew on Tubas and neighbouring towns and sealed all entrances with earth mounds and checkpoints.
The Tammoun municipality said Israeli troops raided the town, fired from helicopters at residential areas, bulldozed main roads, cut water lines, sealed entrances and converted at least ten homes into military posts.
It said Israeli forces also isolated entire neighborhoods by blocking internal roads.
Yedioth Ahronoth, citing occupation security sources, reported that the operation could last several days.
Tubas Governor Ahmed al-Assaad said Israeli forces had notified Palestinian officials the military campaign would continue for days.
He said the large-scale Israeli deployment had paralyzed movement and posed a direct threat to civilians, especially the elderly, the sick and children.
